JIM ALJIAN | Managing Partner
Jim began his career in 1987 at Paine Webber in Santa Rosa, California. He subsequently moved to Smith Barney in 1994 and spent the next 19 years fine tuning his portfolio management skills.
During those years, Smith Barney transitioned through many different mergers and acquisitions, ultimately being acquired by Morgan Stanley in 2009. Jim achieved the title of Senior Portfolio Manager.
This led Jim to establish Aljian Capital Management in 2013, a truly independent investment advisory firm dedicated to helping clients meet their financial goals. Jim believes that his clients are better served by a boutique investment firm focused exclusively on managing individual stocks and bonds on behalf of a select and limited number of clients.
Jim was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and moved to Santa Rosa in 1986. He attended the University of Southern California and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He has been married since 1973 and has two children and five grandchildren. In those rare moments when Jim isn’t monitoring investments, he enjoys saltwater fishing and poker.
